Kristal Senlik - Our 15 Year Anniversary Gala Show

Join us for a multi-cultural evening of music and dance as we celebrate our 15th year! Kristal Senlik (‘Crystal Celebration’) is two gala shows in one.
 
In the first half of the show, Dans Askina Turkish Dance Ensemble performs favorite Turkish dances of our audiences and ensemble over the past 15 years. Special guest performers include Dans Askina Alumni Dancers, Sekhmet of Vermont, Serkan Tutar (Organizer and CEO of Rakkas Istanbul Dance Festival), and local dancer Benjamin Lamb (‘Ben Suleyman’)….plus a few surprises! Live World Music will be performed by incomparable local musicians Greg Herriges (bouzouki, guitar, and vocals) and Michael Bissonette (drums and percussion).
 
The second half of the show features classical Azerbaijan music and traditional women’s dances, and is the first big-stage performance of this combination of artists in Minnesota. Traditional Azeri dances performed by Dans Askina Azeri Dancers, international Azeri performer, choreographer, and instructor Laman Hendricks, and international Azeri performer Vivienne Bennett. Live music performed by accoladed Azeri musicians Aqil Suleymanov (Mugham vocals) and Togrul Orucov (Kemanca).
