DANCES Of Azerbaijan​

As there is a short, shared border between Turkey and Azerbaijan, we began exploring ways to incorporate Azeri dances into our repertoire.  We started by learning two dances from Dr. Laurel Victoria Gray of the Silk Road Dance Company, and over the years would incorporate them into our performances.  In 2016, our Artistic Team connected with International Azeri dancer, instructor, and choreographer Leman Hendricks of Dances of Caucasus, and we decided to continue learning more of these elegant dances.  As Azeri dances are new to Minnesota, we are proud to present them in our performances with the support of the Azerbaijani Association of Minnesota.
